DA@W&M is a faculty-student research group led by Dr. Leslie Cochrane. We engage in Discourse Analysis, a qualitative discipline in linguistics that connects language patterns to the lived experiences of language users. DA@W&M investigates English language discourse in conversation, social media, and the linguistic landscape, focusing especially on disability discourse. In our work, we hope not only to add to the body of scholarly knowledge, but also to support positive social changes in the world.
